FAQ
I have insurance through work. Will my session be covered?
If you have insurance of any kind, please check with your provider to ensure they cover: counselling, clinical counselling or psychotherapy. All of these titles apply to the therapy you are going to receive. You will be provided a detailed receipt to submit to your benefits and in some cases direct billing can be applied.
I am a member of an indigenous community with a status card. Will my services be covered under the NIHB?
Yes. If you are a member of an indigenous community and have a status card, our services will be covered by the NIHB. Our practitioners are registered with the NIHB and can direct bill them. Please choose the “NIHB Initial Assessment” option in online booking for your first session and fill out the “status” number section to be pre-approved for up to 20 sessions. For additional sessions please use the “Individual Counselling (NIHB)” selection.
I have been referred for service from Victim Services. What are the next steps?
If you have selected one of our counsellors from Victim Services, we will receive a letter confirming your approval. We do not, however, receive contact information for you or your child. You must reach out to the office to book a session and confirm that we have received your confirmation letter from the Victim Quick Response Program. If booking online please use the “VQRP Individual Counselling” session for the booking so that we ensure confirmation of services. If we have not received the letter confirming services we, cannot direct bill Victim Services for your session.
I have been referred from victim services. How many sessions will i receive from the VQRP
Victim Services and the Victim Quick Response Program (VQRP) do not allocate a certain number of sessions for the client. They allow billing for an approved amount ($1000 including HST in services). This means that the number and length of sessions depends on the cost. For example, if you are planning to have 50 minute individual sessions ($155 inclusive of HST), six of these sessions would be covered by the VQRP (with an additional amount left over to cover another partial session).
I am A parent of a child who is going to attend counselling. Do i need to attend their session with them?
This depends. If your child is 12-years-old or older they do not need parental involvement in their intake session. They may, however, want you there for support for their first session, which is completely their decision. If your child is under the age of 12-years-old, they need a parent or guardian with them for the intake session to give consent for service and to help answer important intake questions. After the intake, it is up to the child and parent. It is recommended that the parent is no more than 5 minutes away from their child’s session if the counsellor needs them (especially for younger children).
I am a former client of one of the therapists at cultivating Resilience Counselling. Can i continue services?
In short, yes. We may have you fill out a new intake form depending on how long you had been without services or if you saw the practitioner at another location. It would also be dependent on current availability, but we will do our best to accommodate you.
I am confused about the online booking. Can I book over the phone or by email?
Yes, of course. Please contact us at 519-410-5882 by phone or text, or by email at info@cultivatingresilience.ca.
Where can i park at your location?
Street parking is available on both sides of Main Street of Delhi. There is also a municipal parking lot located at the corner of Main Street of Delhi and Eagle Street.
